Help strengthen how data is governed, trusted and used across Teachers Mutual Bank Limited.

As Data Governance Manager, you’ll play an influential role in uplifting and embedding TMBL’s Data Governance framework. Working within the Chief Data Office, you’ll help establish clear ownership, stronger data quality and practical governance while supporting regulatory priorities including EFS reporting and Open Banking.

This is an opportunity to combine deep data governance expertise with regulatory thinking and broad stakeholder influence. You’ll provide trusted advice across complex initiatives, including technology change and AI, while helping TMBL build a mature and sustainable approach to managing its data.

What you’ll do
In this role, you’ll:

- Uplift and embed TMBL’s Data Governance framework, including governance, reporting and assurance.
- Strengthen the management of critical data elements, ownership, lineage, retention and data quality.
- Provide practical, risk-based Data Governance advice across technology change, AI and regulatory initiatives.
- Act as an escalation point for Data Governance incidents, supporting investigation, response and regulatory notifications.
- Develop and maintain Data Governance policies, standards and procedures while monitoring relevant regulatory change.
- Partner across Risk, Compliance, Technology, Cyber, Privacy, Product, Operations and the wider Chief Data Office to embed effective governance.

What you’ll bring
Essential

- Experience in Data Governance within financial services, covering critical data elements, lineage, ownership and retention.
- Experience in data quality management and assurance within regulated reporting environments.
- Experience developing or updating Data Governance policies, standards and procedures.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing data solutions supporting compliance and reporting requirements.
- Experience with Data Management tooling such as Alation, Collibra or similar.




- The ability to bridge technical Data Governance expertise with Australian banking regulatory knowledge.
- Working knowledge of CPG 235, BCBS 239 and CPS 230.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in areas such as Commerce, Finance, Economics or Computer Science.

Nice to have
Experience supporting Privacy, Cyber or AI initiatives in highly regulated environments would be valuable, as would experience with EFS reporting, Consumer Data Right/Open Banking, Australian privacy regulation, or certifications such as DCAM, DAMA-DMBOK, CISA or CRISC.
