Precise Locates is the underground service locating partner of Precise Surveys, a WA-owned business serving civil, infrastructure and commercial projects across Western Australia.
We’re growing, and we’re looking for an experienced locator who wants more than a job on the tools. We want someone who is ready to build a career and step into a management role.
The role
You’ll locate and mark underground services on construction and infrastructure sites across the Perth metro area, working closely with our survey team and head contractor clients. You’ll also be trusted to help shape how our locating team operates as it grows.
Day to day, you will:
- Quote and schedule jobs,
- Help grow the business and along the way build your own skills.
- Locate, trace and mark underground services using electromagnetic locators and GPR
- Carry out Dial Before You Dig (DBYD) enquiry work and site-specific service investigations
- Record and report findings clearly, accurately and on time
- Work safely on active construction sites, following client and site-specific requirements
- Liaise with project managers, supervisors and clients on site
- Mentor and support junior locators as the team grows
- Contribute to improving our processes, quoting and quality standards
About you
Essential:
- Current CertLoc certification
- Proven field experience as an underground service locator
- Sound knowledge of underground service types and of safe work practices around live services
- Current WA driver’s licence and General Construction Induction (White Card)
- Robust communication skills and attention to detail in reporting
- Right to work in Australia
Highly regarded:
- ATCO Gas approved locator status
- Experience with GPR and with the subsurface utility information standard (AS 5488)
- Experience supervising, training or leading others
- Familiarity with CAD, GIS and/or survey data
