About the role

We're looking for a Sales Assistant who loves talking to customers and gets every detail right. You'll be the first point of contact for our clients: answering enquiries, preparing quotes and making sure every order is processed accurately from quote to delivery. Reporting to our Sales Supervisor, you'll work closely with our warehouse and workshop teams. You don't need to be a fire systems expert on day one. We'll train you on our technical products, and we're looking for someone keen to learn them well.

Key responsibilities

- Respond to customer enquiries by phone, email and in person

- Prepare accurate quotes for the right parts, using quote templates

- Request information and site photos needed from customers before quoting

- Check freight costs, especially for long-distance deliveries, and use FSP transport where it suits

- Enter and update enquiries, quotes and sales orders in Odoo

- Receive customer purchase orders and attach them to the matching sales order

- Record each customer's name and contact number on the order so the warehouse can deliver smoothly

- Generate invoices and keep accurate records, including job folders on the server

- Check and report on stock availability, pricing and delivery times

- Arrange freight and keep customers updated on their orders

About you

- Experience in sales, sales administration or customer service, ideally counter sales in a trade or mechanical business

- Hands-on experience with quotes, order processing, invoicing and freight





- Solid attention to detail and ability to check your work before it goes out

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Confident using Microsoft Excel, Word and Adobe

- Able to work independently, manage competing priorities and stay calm in a busy environment

- A team player who enjoys working with customers

- Keen to learn the technical side of fire systems products

- Experience with Odoo or another ERP or CRM system (desirable)

- Knowledge of the fire protection, building services or trade supply industries (desirable)
