About the Role

Onelec Data & Electrical is hiring a full-time Concreter/Civil Operator in Bayswater, VIC. This crucial role involves operating and maintaining specialised machinery for concrete laying and civil construction. Your expertise will ensure projects are completed to high standards, on time, and within budget. You’ll work on diverse sites, contributing to commercial and civil projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate concreting equipment like pumps, vibrators, and screeds.

- Perform concrete footpath reinstatement, including demolition, formwork setup, pouring, finishing, and curing.

- Install and repair kerbs and channels, ensuring alignment, base compaction, and drainage.

- Comply with council specs, engineering drawings, and safety regulations.

- Prepare sites by excavating, levelling, and cleaning.

- Use finishing techniques for desired surface texture and durability.

- Maintain equipment and work areas for safety and efficiency.

- Operate civil construction machinery, including excavator, trucks and NDD trucks.

- Conduct pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance.

- Liaise with supervisors, engineers, and tradespeople for accurate concrete work.

- Follow safety protocols, including PPE use.

- Monitor concrete curing and environmental conditions.

- Maintain records of equipment usage and maintenance.

- Report equipment faults or safety concerns.

What We’re Looking For





- Proven experience with concrete placing equipment and civil plant operation.

- Essential experience in concreting or civil works.

- Valid driver’s license, heavy vehicle license advantageous.

- Knowledge of health and safety requirements.

- Practical competency and troubleshooting skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

- Physical fitness and ability to work in various conditions.

- Relevant certifications, such as a High Risk Work Licence, desirable.

- Experience with site induction and willingness for additional training.
