About the Role
As a Project Officer you will join the Family Records Service and play a meaningful role supporting Aboriginal people, families and communities to access historical records held by government. Working with care, professionalism and cultural sensitivity, you will support individuals through what can often be an emotional and highly personal process. You will join the Truth and Healing Branch within Aboriginal Affairs NSW, contributing to the delivery of Unfinished Business commitments and priorities identified by Stolen Generations survivors and Aboriginal communities. The team works at the intersection of truth-telling, healing and community connection, providing culturally responsive services and projects that help Aboriginal people access, understand and reconnect with important personal and family histories. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply for this targeted role, and greater consideration will be given to their applications, in order to improve access to employment and career opportunities.
