The Role
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design and documentation of a PostgreSQL-based platform solution supporting a National Security customer environment.

This role will be responsible for defining the end-to-end solution architecture, establishing integration and deployment patterns, and ensuring security, availability, resilience and operational requirements are embedded within the overall design.

Working closely with customer stakeholders, DevOps engineers, database specialists and delivery teams, you will establish the architectural foundation for the implementation and long-term sustainment of the platform.

This is an excellent prospect for a Solution Architect with experience across enterprise infrastructure, database or platform solutions and exposure to modern technologies including PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code and GitOps.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop the end-to-end solution architecture for an enterprise PostgreSQL-based platform.
- Produce high-quality architecture documentation, solution designs and supporting technical artefacts.




- Define system integration patterns and deployment models.
- Ensure security, availability, resilience and operational support requirements are incorporated into the solution design.
- Support technical governance reviews and design assurance activities.
- Work closely with DevOps engineers, database specialists and other technical teams throughout delivery.
- Collaborate with customer stakeholders to ensure architectural designs align with operational and technical requirements.
- Establish architectural foundations that support implementation and long-term platform sustainment.

What You'll Need

- Demonstrated experience designing enterprise-scale infrastructure, database or platform solutions.
- Strong solution architecture, modelling and technical documentation skills.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL environments and modern deployment methodologies.
- Strong understanding of system integration and platform architecture principles.
- Understanding of security, availability, resilience and operational requirements within enterprise environments.
- Experience working collaboratively with engineering, DevOps, database and customer stakeholders.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience working within secure government or National Security environments.
- Strong knowledge or experience with PostgreSQL-based platforms.
- Understanding of Kubernetes and containerised environments.
- Exposure to virtualisation and modern infrastructure platforms.
- Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Understanding of GitOps practices and modern deployment methodologies.
- Experience designing solutions for long-term operational sustainment.
