Job Description:

Spark Logic Academy is a children’s education academy located in Rochedale, Brisbane. We provide small-group learning programs for children in Maths, English, Logic, Phonics, STEM and Coding.

We are currently looking for a reliable and engaging part-time STEM Teacher to support young students with science, basic physics, hands-on experiments and structured problem-solving activities.

This role is suitable for a science teacher, STEM tutor, education student, science student, engineering student, or experienced children’s program instructor who enjoys explaining concepts clearly to children.

Key Responsibilities:

- Teach small-group STEM classes for children

- Explain science and basic physics concepts in a simple, child-friendly way

- Prepare and deliver safe hands-on STEM activities

- Support observation, questioning, problem-solving and teamwork

- Follow Spark Logic Academy lesson materials and teaching structure

- Adjust explanations based on student age and ability

- Encourage curiosity, confidence and participation

- Maintain a safe, respectful and engaging classroom environment

- Provide simple feedback to parents or the academy manager when required

Requirements:

- Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring or working with children

- Good science knowledge, especially basic physics

- Strong communication skills

- Ability to explain technical ideas in straightforward language

- Patient, reliable and organised

- Comfortable teaching small groups





- Able to manage hands-on activities safely

- Weekend availability preferred

- Queensland Blue Card required, or willingness/eligibility to obtain one before teaching

Preferred:

- STEM, science, engineering, physics or education background

- Experience teaching primary school students

- Experience with hands-on experiments or children’s science activities

- Classroom management experience

- Availability on weekends and selected weekday afternoons

Pay:

Pay will depend on experience, suitability and final role arrangement. Employment type, award, contractor/employee classification, pay and compliance requirements must be confirmed before engagement.
