Position: Excavator / Wheel Loader Operator – Yard Operations
Location: DC Waste, 189 Northbourne Rd, Campbellfield
Reports To: Yard Manager

About the Role

DC Waste is seeking a skilled and motivated Excavator / Wheel Loader Operator to join our team in Campbellfield. The role involves operating heavy plant equipment to sort and process demolition and construction waste, while also assisting in the day-to-day management and presentation of the yard.

This position is best suited to someone who is self-motivated, efficient, and has a positive “can-do” attitude. Strong communication and management skills are essential to ensure the yard is kept safe, organised, and operating at maximum efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate excavators, wheel loaders, and other yard-based plant equipment to sort and process demolition and construction waste.
- Ensure efficient loading, unloading, and stockpiling of materials in accordance with site procedures.
- Maintain a clean, secure, and organised yard environment.
- Coordinating day-to-day operations and communicate effectively with truck drivers, yard staff, and management to ensure smooth workflow.
- Conduct daily pre-start checks,



routine maintenance, and report any issues with equipment.
- Uphold workplace health and safety standards at all times.
- Assist in general yard duties as required, not limited to equipment operation.

Skills & Experience

- Proven experience operating excavators, wheel loaders, or similar heavy equipment.
- Strong awareness of yard safety and environmental procedures.
- Good communication and team coordination skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work efficiently under pressure.
- Physically fit with a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Valid plant operator tickets and driver’s licence essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34.00 – $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
