Work from home, by phone. Full training. About $2,000 to $3,000 per completed install.
This is a commission-only, independent contractor role. There is no base salary. You talk with Australian homeowners about cutting their power bills with solar and batteries, from home, on your own hours. No door-knocking and no solar experience needed: we train you, give you contacts to call, and our system handles the reminders and follow-ups.
Getting started is simple: apply here (about 3 minutes), watch a 30-minute online information session, then start the training.
Sunnn is an Australian residential solar and battery company. We combine experienced salespeople, more than 20 years of digital marketing, and our own sales and operations software to help Australian households make better decisions about their energy.
Most solar reps get a spreadsheet, a basic script and a phone, then they're left to figure it out. We built the opposite: a connected system that supports you from the first conversation to the finished install, including your commission.
Technology supports the process. People build the trust. Your job is the part only a person can do: real conversations, understanding the customer's situation, and guiding suitable homeowners through a clear and compliant process.
How you're paid
- Commission of about $2,000 to $3,000 per completed install, depending on the size and type of system, the gross profit on the job and the final install outcome
- Commission is paid on completed, eligible installs, not on signed contracts alone
- Retainer after early results: once you've completed your first 3 qualifying installs and meet the eligibility requirements, you can qualify for a retainer of about $50,000 to $65,000 a year. You're paid whichever is higher, the retainer or your commission, under the written contractor agreement
- What you earn depends on your activity, skill and results. It is not guaranteed
Where the technology helps you
We use AI and automation across the sales journey so you spend less time chasing and more time selling. Depending on the lead and the stage, our system can help with:
- First contact with recent leads and early qualification
- Booking appointments and sending reminders
- Follow-up texts and calls
- Re-engaging people who missed an appointment
- Staying in touch with customers who need longer to decide
- Tracking your pipeline and sales activity
- Keeping customers updated on their job
None of this replaces you. It takes the repetitive admin off your plate so your time goes into conversations.
A clear path as you grow
Nobody starts by juggling a big stack of paid leads. First you learn the Sunnn process, finish the training, and show you can communicate well, follow the compliance rules and move opportunities forward.
As you hit the performance milestones, you can earn access to more marketing support, better-qualified leads and the retainer. You start with the fundamentals and grow into a well-supported, technology-backed sales role.
What happens after the sale
A sale only counts when the customer gets the right system, installed properly. Solar reps everywhere know the frustrations: unclear job updates, slow replies from operations, install delays, missing paperwork, and waiting weeks for commission to be reconciled.
We've put serious work into fixing this: clean data, organised job tracking, customer follow-up and clear commission visibility. No system removes every delay, but you'll be able to see where each of your jobs is and when you'll be paid.
What you'll do
- Speak with Australian homeowners about their power bills, and their solar and battery options
- Run structured first calls to understand each customer's situation
- Take suitable customers through to a detailed solar and battery presentation
- Explain products, finance options, likely savings and how the system works, clearly and honestly
- Gather what's needed for an accurate system recommendation
- Follow our sales process and compliance rules, including consent-based prospecting and Do Not Call Register checks
- Keep customer notes and follow-ups up to date in our CRM
- Work with the sales and operations team as your customers move toward install
This is a phone and online role. There is no door-knocking.
Training and support
No solar experience needed. You'll get:
- Our online training academy
- Live coaching and a short weekday team huddle
- Solar and battery product training
- Scripts and conversation frameworks
- Training in qualifying customers, presenting and following up
- CRM and pipeline training
- Compliance and responsible-selling guidance
- Coaching based on your real calls and results
You bring the willingness to learn, practise and use the process every day.
This role suits you if you:
- Communicate confidently and respectfully
- Are curious about how people make decisions
- Are coachable and happy to practise
- Can follow a structured process and stay organised
- Can work on your own without someone watching over you
- Are comfortable with technology
- Want your income to reflect your results
- Believe in honest, customer-first selling
Experience in sales, customer service, recruitment, real estate, finance, telecommunications, hospitality or solar helps, but it isn't essential. Some of our best people started with no sales background.
It probably won't suit you if you:
- Need a guaranteed salary from day one
- Aren't comfortable being paid on commission
- Expect sales to happen without consistent prospecting and follow-up
- Don't want to use a CRM or a structured process
- Don't want to do the training or be coached
What you need
- The right to work in Australia
- An ABN, or be willing to get one
- A reliable computer, a smartphone and stable internet
- A quiet, professional place to take calls
- Clear spoken and written communication
- The ability to handle your own tax, super and business expenses
How to apply
- Apply on Indeed. It takes about 3 minutes
- If you're shortlisted, we'll invite you to an online information session covering the role, contractor setup, pay, training and expectations
- Shortlisted applicants may be invited to a next step
- Successful applicants receive the written contractor agreement and onboarding information to review
There are no fees to apply, join, onboard or train.
