Elgon Accounting is an established accounting and tax practice in Midland, serving individuals, small businesses, trusts and SMSFs across the Perth region. We're looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join our team and build a career in public practice.
You'll work directly with the principal and senior accountants, so you'll get broad, hands-on experience from day one instead of handling just one small part of the process.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing individual, company, partnership and trust tax returns
- Preparing BAS and IAS lodgements
- Preparing financial statements and year-end workpapers
- Bookkeeping and bank reconciliations in Xero
- Assisting with SMSF accounts and compliance
- Assisting with Division 7A and other tax compliance matters
- Dealing with clients and the ATO
About you
- Degree in Accounting or Commerce (completed or nearing completion)
- 0–2 years' experience in public practice (graduates are encouraged to apply)
- Working knowledge of Xero, or willingness to learn it quickly
- Strong Excel skills
- Good attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication
- Interest in completing the CPA Program
- Full Australian working rights
What we offer
- $60,000 – $70,000 + super, depending on experience
- Support towards your CPA Program
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (no weekends)
- Broad public-practice experience across tax, BAS, SMSF and business clients
- Direct mentoring from an experienced accountant
- A friendly small-practice workplace in Midland. Parking provided.
Pay: $52,880.00 – $70,000.00 per year
