About Us

Q≪ Pty Ltd, trading as Hicksborough Store & Cafe, is a well-established cafe in North Wonthaggi, Victoria. We serve modern breakfasts and lunches, alongside Korean and Asian-inspired dinner dishes.

We are looking for an experienced Chef to join our team on a full time basis.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, cook and present dishes across breakfast, lunch and dinner services.
- Assist with menu planning and the development of seasonal specials.
- Coordinate daily kitchen preparation and cooking activities.
- Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion control.
- Supervise and support kitchen staff to ensure efficient service.
- Monitor stock levels, order ingredients and minimise food waste.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and safe food storage standards.
- Assist with training and mentoring junior kitchen staff.

Skills and Experience





- A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience as a Chef.
- Relevant culinary qualifications or equivalent industry experience preferred.
- Experience in a cafe, restaurant or similar environment.
- Strong organisational, communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen.
- Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Current Food Safety Certification.
- Availability to work daytime shifts, evenings and weekends as rostered.
- Valid Australian work rights.
