VIVE Cooking School is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team in Rosebery. This is a wide-ranging, hands-on role supporting cooking classes through kitchen cleaning, class setup, and customer service. Full training is provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist instructors during lessons (demonstrations, oven timers, student support with equipment)
- Welcome and assist students, creating a friendly and inclusive atmosphere
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and classroom
- Help with stock control and grocery runs as needed
- Support setup and pack-down of events and workshops
- Prepare equipment and workstations before classes
- Assist chefs and instructors during classes (behind the scenes)
- Greet customers and provide a warm, friendly welcome
- Serve beverages to class participants
- Please note: cooking is not required for this role._
About You
- Passion for food and cooking (formal training is a plus, but not essential)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
- Flexible availability,
including evenings and weekends
- Previous hospitality or kitchen experience is preferred
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Availability
- Classes typically run Wednesday to Sunday :
- Occasional Monday or Tuesday shifts
- Day, evening, and weekend shifts available
- Hours vary week to week
Requirements (preferred)
- Unrestricted Australian work rights
- Valid RSA certification
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
