Junk Removal Melbourne is a family-run business based in Oakleigh. Between us we’ve got over 30 years of experience and more than 16,000 jobs behind us, and we’re rated 5.0 on Google from 118 reviews. We’re proud of that, and it comes down to something simple: turning up on time, working hard and looking after people.

We clear homes, garages, rental properties and deceased estates, and we look after office furniture removals and full office decommissions for businesses, agents and property managers across Melbourne. Around 80% of what we collect is recycled or donated rather than dumped.

Things are busier than ever, so we’re looking for someone to join the crew for the long haul.

Who we’re looking for

No experience? No problem. We’ll teach you everything, from lifting and loading to running a job. What matters more to us is the kind of person you are:

• Honest and trustworthy. You’ll be in people’s homes and offices, around their belongings, so trust means everything to us.

• Reliable. If you’re running late or can’t make it, just give us a heads up.

• Keen to learn and grow. You enjoy picking up new skills and want to take on more over time.

• Good with people. Some jobs are clearing a loved one’s home, so a calm, kind and respectful manner goes a long way.

• A hard worker who takes pride in a job well done.

• A team player with a positive attitude.

What you’ll be doing

• Helping customers explicit out homes, garages and properties

• Office furniture removals and decommissions: taking apart workstations and desks, and moving partitions, boardroom furniture, filing cabinets and IT gear

• Deceased estate and rental clearances, handled with care

• Sorting items for recycling, donation and resale





• Loading the truck safely and dropping loads at recycling and transfer stations

• Working in a two-person crew on our trucks

Where this can go

• Driving and running your own truck

• Leading a crew and helping train new starters

• Helping with quoting and looking after our commercial clients

Hours

Casual, Monday to Friday, with steady hours for the right person and more as we grow. Some after-hours or weekend office jobs come up, and they’re paid at overtime rates.

It helps if you have

• Good fitness, as the job is physical

• A tidy, presentable look, since you’ll be meeting customers

• No problem with early starts

• A driver licence (car or Light Rigid). Not essential to start, but a big plus

• Any removals, labouring or warehouse experience

• Some handiness with tools for taking furniture apart
