Recyclable Packaging is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator for the Afternoon Shift to join our operations team in Seaford, VIC. This is a full-time position working afternoon shifts, playing a crucial role in our manufacturing and packaging operations. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for running and monitoring specialised machinery that is essential to our production processes, ensuring we maintain the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production machinery throughout the afternoon shift, ensuring all equipment functions safely and efficiently
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and basic troubleshooting on assigned machinery to minimise downtime
- Monitor production output and quality standards, reporting any defects or issues immediately
- Prepare and set up machinery for production runs in accordance with job specifications and work instructions
- Perform regular inspections of products coming off the production line to ensure they meet quality requirements
- Maintain accurate records of production data, machine performance and shift activities
- Follow all health, safety and environmental protocols and procedures at all times
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operation of the production line
- Respond promptly to alarms or equipment malfunctions and escalate issues as required
- Assist with cleaning and housekeeping duties within the production area
What we're looking for
- Previous experience as a Machine Operator or in a similar manufacturing or production role is desirable, but not necessary as training provided
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions and production specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards
- Reliable and punctual with the ability to work afternoon shifts consistently
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform manual handling tasks
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety practices in the workplace
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new equipment and processes
