You’ve built deep expertise in migration law. Now you want to shape how great immigration advice is delivered, and build a team that does it with you.

At Work Visa Lawyers, South Australia’s largest immigration law firm, we’re looking for an experienced Lawyer or Registered Migration Agent to step into a Team Leader role. You’ll start by getting across our systems and running complex, high-value matters. Once you’re established, you’ll grow your own team as the practice expands.

This role is based at our Hindmarsh office. Once you’re fully across our systems and processes, there’s scope for some flexibility in how you work.

What you’ll be doing

• Running complex matters across corporate, employer-sponsored, DAMA, skilled, family and appeals work

• Being the go-to person for tricky cases and technical questions

• Shaping our processes, quality checks and training

• Recruiting, mentoring and leading your own team as we grow

• Representing the firm at industry events and with key corporate clients

What you’ll bring

• Admission as a lawyer (Supreme Court of SA, or able to be admitted) with an unrestricted practising certificate, or current registration as an RMA

• Typically 5+ years in migration practice – but we care most about what you can do





• Experience supervising or mentoring others, or the drive to step up and show us you’re ready

• Strong technical knowledge across multiple visa streams, and outstanding judgement

• The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients and industry stakeholders

• Excellent written English – this is essential, as you’ll be preparing and reviewing advice, applications and submissions to a high standard

• Strong spoken communication skills, with the confidence to engage professionally with clients, corporate stakeholders and your team

• Clear, empathetic communication with clients from all backgrounds

• Australian work rights and willingness to undergo a National Police Check

Bonus points for a background in strong submission writing, corporate migration experience, Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) or ministerial intervention work, or a second language.
