Motor mechanics are required to provide expert advice on the mechanical condition of vehicles, diagnose and repair mechanical parts including engines, transmissions and suspension systems, and maintain safe working environments through correct operation of tools and specialized equipment.
Key responsibilities, to name a few:
- Provide expert advice in relation to current mechanical condition of vehicles
- Take all necessary steps to diagnose to ensure the correct operation of vehicles
- Diagnose and repair the mechanical parts of the motor vehicle, such as the engine, transmission and the suspension systems
- Provide guidance and training to apprentice service technicians
- Maintain a protected working environment through ensuring the correct operation of all tools and specialized equipment
- Demonstrate behaviors that align with company policies and organizational values
- Contribute to building a positive team spirit
About you
- Australian Trade qualification as a motor mechanic, minimum Certificate IV in Automotive Repair is required
- Minimum 3-4 years' experience in light vehicle repair and maintenance
- Current driver's license with the ability to drive manual and automatic
- Excellent problem-solving skills with quality workmanship and an eye for detail
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently without supervision
- Previous dealership experience will be highly regarded but not essential
- A roadworthy ticket is desirable
