Part of Lifezone Metals (NYSE: LZM), Simulus specialises in hydrometallurgical process development and testing, combining laboratory, pilot plant and engineering expertise to support critical minerals projects globally.

We are seeking an Analytical Laboratory Technician to join our Welshpool assay lab. This is a permanent, full-time, Perth-based role working Monday to Friday, ideal for someone looking to build a career in analytical chemistry within the minerals sector.

Working alongside our analytical chemists and broader laboratory team, you will prepare and analyse the samples that underpin the hydrometallurgical testwork and pilot plant programs we deliver for clients around the world.

About the role

Reporting to the Analytical Laboratory Supervisor, you will support laboratory operations through the safe and timely preparation, analysis and reporting of results.

Key responsibilities include:

- Prepare samples, standards, reagents and solutions required for laboratory testing.

- Pulverise, weigh and digest samples for ICP analysis.

- Conduct analytical testing safely, efficiently and within required timeframes, in accordance with approved methods.

- Receive, log and track samples, ensuring accurate sample identification, data entry and recording of results.

- Operate, maintain and perform routine calibration checks on laboratory equipment and instruments.

- Complete sample analysis by utilising wet chemistry techniques.

- Apply QA/QC procedures, including duplicates, blanks and reference standards, and escalate any anomalies.

- Handle,



store and dispose of chemicals and laboratory waste safely, and promptly report hazards and incidents.

- Support the Analytical Laboratory Supervisor and broader laboratory team to achieve operational objectives.

About you

We are looking for a methodical, detail-focused person who takes pride in producing accurate, reliable results and is keen to develop their technical capability in a busy analytical laboratory.

You will have:

- Certificate, Diploma or tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Laboratory Techniques or a closely related scientific discipline. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

- Sound understanding of laboratory analytical techniques and practices, including sample preparation, wet chemistry and instrumental analysis.

- Ability to follow documented procedures and maintain accurate records.

- Strong attention to detail and a methodical, quality-focused approach.

- A strong commitment to safety and compliance.

- Competence with Microsoft Office and laboratory data systems.

- A reliable, accountable and team-oriented approach, with clear communication and a positive, professional attitude.

- Experience in an analytical or mineral processing laboratory, and familiarity with ICP-OES and ICP-MS, is advantageous but not essential.
