Recyclable Packaging is seeking a Machine/Extrusion Operator for Night Shift to join our manufacturing team in Seaford, Victoria. This is a full-time position working permanent night shifts, playing a crucial role in our production operations. You will be responsible for operating and monitoring extrusion and/or thermoforming machinery to ensure efficient, safe and high-quality production. This role is essential to maintaining our commitment to delivering quality recyclable packaging solutions to our customers.
Key responsibilities
- Operate extrusion machinery and/or thermoforming machinery in accordance with established production schedules and specifications
- Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout shift, making adjustments as needed to maintain standards
- Conduct routine machine maintenance, cleaning and basic troubleshooting to ensure equipment operates optimally
- Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality control standards before dispatch
- Load raw materials and manage material flow to keep production lines running continuously
- Record production data and maintain accurate shift reports and documentation
- Follow all health and safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to resolve issues and maintain workflow
- Support a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and safety
What we're looking for
- Proven experience preferred, but not necessary as training will be provided, operating extrusion/thermoforming machinery or similar industrial production equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for equipment and output during night shift
- The ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting
- Good physical fitness, as the role involves standing for extended periods and occasional manual handling
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Reliability and flexibility to work permanent night shift
- A strong commitment to health and safety protocols
