About the Role: Our Federal Government client is seeking an

Infrastructure Engineer (EL1 Equivalent) .

This is a long-term contract prospect located in Canberra (ACT) with hybrid working arrangements .

Successful candidates will be required to work full-time onsite for the first three months.

As The Selected Candidate, You Will

- Provide technical expertise and leadership across infrastructure projects and operational ICT environments.
- Design, build, configure and maintain virtualised server, network and gateway infrastructure.
- Maintain, monitor and upgrade virtual service environments and associated infrastructure.
- Configure and deploy virtual services and servers supporting critical departmental systems.
- Support secure internet gateway, network, data centre and secure systems operations.
- Lead infrastructure installation, upgrade, migration and remediation activities.
- Provide infrastructure capacity planning, lifecycle management and asset oversight.
- Manage geographically dispersed server and networking environments.
- Deliver data centre optimisation, operations management and vendor coordination.
- Produce technical documentation including business specifications, functional specifications, SOPs, deployment guides and technical specifications.
- Support project teams through technical guidance,



workshops and knowledge transfer activities.
- Travel interstate as required.

To Be Successful In This Role You Should Have

- Strong experience administering and supporting enterprise ICT infrastructure environments.
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS and DHCP.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SCCM, Hyper-V/VMM, SCOM, Exchange, File & Print services.
- Demonstrated experience supporting secure web gateways and secure email gateways.
- Strong understanding of PSPF and ISM security frameworks.
- Experience contributing to infrastructure maintenance, upgrades and operational support in large enterprise environments.
- Proven experience leading systems installation, migration and decommissioning activities.
- Ability to design and support complex infrastructure solutions while balancing functional and non-functional requirements.
- Experience troubleshooting, analysing and resolving infrastructure, systems and network issues.
- Ability to develop scripts or automation solutions to support infrastructure operations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and documentation skills.

It Is Desirable If You Have

- Experience with enterprise routing and switching technologies, particularly Cisco.
- Experience with firewall and load balancing technologies including Palo Alto, Fortinet and F5.




- Experience in availability management and service improvement activities.
- Experience with data centre design, migration and implementation.
- Knowledge of Red Hat Linux, AIX, storage platforms, WAN/MAN technologies and secure network architectures.
- Experience working within Federal Government or highly secure environments.

Security Clearance Due to security clearance requirements, candidates must be Australian Citizens with Baseline Security Clearance .
