At nbn, we're looking for motivated people to join our internal workforce as Customer Field Technicians. Through our fully paid 8-week training program, we'll build on your existing skills and provide you with the technical knowledge, tools and support needed to succeed in the role.

We are looking for candidates based in Katoomba/ Blue Mountains area.

A bit about your role
As a Customer Field Technician, you'll play an important role in connecting and supporting customers in their homes or businesses across a range of nbn technologies.

Your day could involve installing new services, maintaining network infrastructure, troubleshooting faults and ensuring our customers feel supported and informed.

This is a hands-on, field-based role that offers variety and independence, with each day bringing new locations, challenges, and opportunities to learn. You'll be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, including at heights, in confined spaces, and handling tools and equipment as part of the role.

We’ll provide full training, a company vehicle, tools of the trade,



and ongoing career growth and support to help you succeed. Safety is at the heart of everything we do, and you'll be supported to follow safe work practices while delivering quality outcomes for customers and communities.

The working hours are anywhere between 7am and 7pm, with flexibility based on business needs.

A bit about you
Previous experience in telecommunications isn’t needed — we’ll teach you everything you need to know. What matters most is that you enjoy hands‑on work, like solving problems, and feel comfortable speaking with customers.

You might come from a trade, a hands‑on technical job, or a customer‑focused role. Experience in fields like plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, labouring, construction, mechanical work or manufacturing is highly valued.

You’ll do well in this role if you enjoy working independently, managing your workload, and taking pride in delivering quality work. A robust commitment to safety, clear communication skills, and a current, clean Driver’s Licence are essential.
