A leading and highly respected Australian organisation is seeking an accomplished Risk & Compliance Manager to join its established Risk & Quality function.
This is a key leadership appointment at an exciting time of organisational change and transformation. Working closely with the Head of Risk, you will have significant visibility across the organisation and the opportunity to influence how enterprise risk, compliance and organisational resilience continue to evolve.
Your new role
Reporting directly to the Head of Risk, you will operate as a trusted adviser and key 2IC, providing both strategic and operational leadership across the organisation’s enterprise risk agenda.
This is a highly influential role with exposure to senior executives and Board-level stakeholders.
You will take ownership of critical risk frameworks and systems while helping shape the organisation’s broader approach to risk maturity, incident management, crisis preparedness and risk culture. Rather than simply maintaining existing frameworks, you will have the opportunity to challenge, enhance and influence the future direction of risk management across a complex organisation going through significant change.
Key responsibilities
You will:
- Partner closely with the Head of Risk as a trusted adviser on key enterprise risk matters
- Lead and enhance the organisation’s enterprise and operational risk management capability
- Facilitate strategic risk assessments and provide constructive challenge to senior stakeholders
- Own and continuously improve the incident management framework and supporting systems
- Lead the ongoing development and delivery of the organisation’s crisis management capability
- Oversee and optimise the enterprise risk/GRC system
- Maintain and uplift the enterprise risk management framework, policies and governance
- Support strategic initiatives across compliance, business continuity and organisational resilience
- Drive greater risk maturity, accountability and ownership across the organisation
- Deliver clear, insightful risk reporting to Executive and Board-level stakeholders
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced risk professional who is comfortable operating at both a strategic and operational level. Importantly, you will have the credibility and communication skills to influence senior leaders and act as a trusted adviser across the organisation.
You will bring:
- Significant experience across enterprise risk management, compliance, incidents and crisis management
- Strong understanding of relevant standards, including ISO 31000, ISO 22301 and ISO 37301
- Demonstrated experience partnering with senior executives and influencing organisational outcomes
- A track record of uplifting risk maturity, frameworks and culture
- Strong judgement and the ability to provide constructive challenge to senior stakeholders
- High-quality analytical, communication and Executive/Board reporting capability
- A relevant tertiary qualification in risk, compliance or a related discipline
- Experience within a complex, multi-site or regulated organisation will be highly regarded
What you'll get in return
This is an opportunity to step into a genuinely influential senior risk position where you can have a visible impact on the organisation’s future direction.
You will benefit from:
- A key 2IC position working closely with the Head of Risk
- Significant exposure to senior executives and organisational leadership
- The opportunity to influence the evolution of enterprise risk during a period of change
- Ownership of high-profile risk, incident and crisis initiatives
- The opportunity to help shape organisational risk maturity and culture
- A collaborative and purpose-driven working environment
- Competitive salary and perks
