Robert Half is currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join an industry leading business based in Laverton.

Commencing immediately, you will be working as part of an established finance team, providing support across month-end, reconciliations and broader financial accounting activities.

This position is offered on an initial 4 to 6-month temporary contract and has the potential to transition to permanent employment, although not guaranteed.

The flexibility to work from home 1-2 days per week following training is also provided.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager and working as part of an established finance team, your duties will include:

- Assisting with month-end close
- General ledger reconciliations
- Bank reconciliations
- Preparing and posting journals
- Investigating and resolving reconciliation differences
- Assisting with trial balance preparation and review
- Supporting monthly financial and management reporting
- Fixed asset accounting and reconciliations
- Assisting with ad hoc accounting and reporting requirements

Your Profile

To be successful in this role, you will have a great knowledge and understanding of accounting functions, including:

- At least 2 years' experience in a similar role with relevant qualifications, or working towards a finance qualification




- Proven experience with balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close processes.
- An analytical mindset and to be able to work to tight deadlines
- Solid communication skills and possess the ability to build relationships
- An intermediate level of Excel skills (pivot tables/ V-lookups), with an aptitude to learn new finance systems quickly
