We are looking for a designer who is equally comfortable sketching ideas live in a client workshop as they are leveraging advanced digital tools to communicate, test and enhance those ideas. Someone who understands that technology should support great design thinking, not replace it.

Our Urban Design team has a strong pipeline of work across a diverse range of projects, from growth area planning and large-scale residential communities through to mixed-use precincts, strategic masterplans and place-based advisory work. We collaborate closely with private developers, government agencies and infrastructure providers to deliver creative, commercially informed and highly practical outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities

- Leading complex urban design, masterplanning and growth area projects across Victoria and nationally.
- Working closely with clients to develop ambitious, creative, commercially informed, and practical design solutions.
- Strengthening and expanding Veris' urban design presence and market profile across the development industry.
- Building and maintaining trusted relationships with developers, government agencies,



infrastructure providers and key industry stakeholders.
- Supporting the growth of the Veris design brand through thought leadership, industry engagement and market-facing initiatives.
- Identifying new opportunities, generating work and supporting business development initiatives across urban design and related service lines.
- Representing Veris within industry forums, conferences, professional organisations and client networks.
- Mentoring and developing emerging urban designers while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
- Working closely with planners, surveyors, GIS specialists and other professionals to deliver integrated outcomes for clients and communities.

About You

You will bring:

- 10+ years' experience in urban design, masterplanning or a related consulting environment.
- Significant experience delivering large residential and mixed-use masterplanning projects from early strategy and visioning through to subdivision design and delivery.
- Strong expertise in Victorian planning and development processes, including PSPs, growth area planning and medium-density neighbourhood design.
- A recognised industry reputation and established professional network across development, planning and government sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to win, grow and maintain trusted client relationships.




- Robust design leadership and a passion for creating high-quality places and communities.
- A passion for the craft of urban design, with the ability to communicate ideas through hand sketching, workshop facilitation and traditional design processes, supported by strong digital and visualisation capabilities.
- An appreciation for how emerging technologies, data and digital tools can strengthen design outcomes and enhance the way creative ideas are communicated.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and presentation skills.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- A genuine passion for mentoring and developing the next generation of urban design professionals.
- A passion for advancing the profession through mentoring, knowledge sharing and thought leadership.
