We are seeking a Gardening Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is based in Berrima NSW and offers an excellent prospect to develop your skills in gardening and landscaping whilst contributing to the maintenance and beautification of our premises. You will work alongside an experienced property manager to ensure our grounds remain well-maintained, attractive and safe. The role is 3 days per week, Tuesday to Thursday, from 8.30am to 4pm.
What you'll be doing
- Mow and edge 14 acres of lawns
- Slashing
- Assist the property manager in clearing dead or fallen trees
- Trim / prune shrubs and trees (including extensive hedging)
- Apply fertiliser (seasonal)
- Water and feed pot plants
- Keep gardens free of weeds and dead plant litter, mulch plant beds
- Rake leaves and sticks
- Keep driveways, patios and deck tidy
- Tend the vegetable patch and herb garden
- Maintain fishponds and Ornamental Koi fish
- Feed chooks and collect eggs
What we're looking for
- Capacity to support the Property Manager in a wide variety of garden and property maintenance needs
- Hold a drivers license and be able to operate equipment from whipper snipper to ride-on mowing equipment and tractor
- Willingness to take ownership of the role and complete tasks with pride and attention to detail
- Professional personal presentation
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour, including lifting, bending and working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Reliability and commitment to maintaining high standards of work and safety
- Previous experience in gardening or landscaping is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate
