Some showroom roles are about maintaining what's already there. This one is about helping build something new.

An international design-led materials business is preparing to establish its presence in Australia, bringing a premium collection to the local market. The opportunity is to help introduce the range, develop industry relationships and create a showroom experience that sets the business up for long-term success.

I'm looking for someone who understands design, enjoys working with people and has the commercial instinct to turn customer interest into sales and lasting industry relationships.

The Opportunity:

You'll be one of the first people on the ground helping establish the brand's Melbourne presence. It's an opportunity to contribute ideas, build relationships and help shape how the business is experienced by customers.

A new showroom, office and warehouse is being prepared for launch. In the meantime, you'll work from home and/or a temporary pop-up showroom while helping establish the foundations for the permanent studio.

Once the showroom is operational, you'll take ownership of the customer experience, working with homeowners, interior designers, architects, kitchen designers, builders and fabricators to help them find the right materials for their projects.

What you'll be doing:

- Hosting design consultations and helping customers select materials, colours, patterns and finishes to suit their projects.

- Presenting a premium architectural surface collection across residential and commercial design applications.

- Building relationships with Melbourne's architecture, interior design, kitchen and construction communities.

- Managing enquiries, samples, quotations and follow-ups,

converting customer interest into sales and progressing opportunities through to specification or order.

- Working with the wider sales team to develop project opportunities, support industry events and share market feedback that helps grow the business.

Who I'm looking for:

You might come from an interior design studio, a premium kitchen or bathroom showroom, a stone or tile business, or another design-led building products environment.

You don't need to be an established business development manager. I'm more interested in someone who understands design, enjoys working with people and has the initiative to recognise an opportunity and follow it through.

You'll bring:

- Experience in showroom sales, design consultation or a premium customer-facing environment.

- A genuine interest in interiors, architecture, stone, kitchens, bathrooms or architectural materials.

- Confidence presenting products and guiding customers towards the right solution without being overly transactional.

- Strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage enquiries, quotations, samples and CRM activity.

- An entrepreneurial mindset. You're comfortable building relationships from scratch, helping establish new processes and taking ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do.

- Experience in stone, surfaces, cabinetry,

kitchen design or architectural products would be highly regarded, as would existing relationships across Melbourne's design and building industry.

What's on offer?

- $80,000–$110,000 base salary + super, depending on experience.

- The opportunity to represent a premium international brand establishing itself in Australia.

- Early involvement in building a new Melbourne operation, with a showroom, office and warehouse being prepared for launch.

- Product training and exposure to a growing segment of the architectural materials market.

- Industry events and the opportunity to develop relationships across Melbourne's architecture, interiors and construction sectors.

- Potential to progress into broader account management or business development responsibilities as the Australian operation expands.
