RN/EEN Practice Nurse l Full time or Part time
Are you a Registered Nurse or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse who loves hands-on procedural work and wants more variety than a typical practice nursing role?
This is your chance to join a large, well-established general practice in Orange as a Practice Nurse, reporting to an experienced Practice Nurse Manager who genuinely backs their team.
Alongside busy general practice, the clinic runs an Urgent Care service and a Specialist Wing covering obstetrics, gynaecology and sports medicine, so no two days look the same.
Permanent full-time and part-time roles are available (part-time minimum Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday), all weekday hours with no night shifts, and an immediate start is on offer.
Your Key Responsibilities as the Practice Nurse:
Procedural care:Perform venepuncture, pathology collection and peripheral IV cannulation.
Iron infusions:Prepare, administer and monitor infusions alongside the treating GP, including observations and reaction management.
Clinical care:Wound care, dressings, suture removal, immunisations, cold-chain management, ECGs and spirometry.
Urgent and specialist support:Triage Urgent Care presentations and assist GPs and specialists with consults and procedures.
Chronic and preventive care:Health assessments, chronic disease management plans, care plan reviews and patient education.
Practice operations:Keep treatment rooms stocked and sterile, maintain accurate documentation and recalls, and support infection control and RACGP accreditation.
About You:
Confident and competent in venepuncture and cannulation – iron infusion experience is highly regarded.
General practice experience preferred; blood bank, donor centre or ambulatory care backgrounds are also very welcome.
Calm and organised in a busy, varied clinical workplace.
A warm, positive communicator who builds trust with patients quickly.
A genuine team player who enjoys working closely with GPs, specialists and reception.
Current CPR certification, NSW Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or willing to obtain).
Essential: current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, or Enrolled Nurse with medication endorsement and MUST have Australian Work Rights
Why This Organisation:
This organisation is one of the larger general practices in the Central West, caring for a broad community across general, urgent and specialist medicine.
It offers a supportive, close-knit nursing team, great clinical exposure and the chance to enjoy a relaxed regional lifestyle in Orange, with a lower cost of living than the city.
"Let us never consider ourselves finished nurses... we must be learning all of our lives.
