Health and Safety Advisor (12 month fixed term)
A new and exiting opportunity has arisen within our clients greater Safety team. Reporting to the senior safety lead, you will be the specialist for safety across a particular portfolio. The role has no direct reports. This is an initial 12 month fixed term hire opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Implement, review and continuously improve contractor safety processes, including the supporting tools, systems, reporting and data.
Administer contractor prequalification and safety management systems, and coach leaders who engage high-risk contractors to use them.
Deliver assurance, compliance monitoring and risk management activities across project and operational work.
Act as the escalation point for complex contractor safety matters, corrective actions and stakeholder issues.
Analyse performance data and emerging trends, and turn them into transparent recommendations for senior leaders.
Coach and advise directors, project managers and operational teams to lift safety capability.
Prepare and present advice, reports and insights to senior internal and external stakeholders.
Travel domestically to regional and remote sites as required.

You will also bring:
Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and coaching skills, with confidence advising senior leaders.
Strong Safety system experience
Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including preparing safety documents and reports.
Experience working within the construction industry is desirable
The ability to manage competing priorities and work through operational problems collaboratively.
A relevant tertiary qualification in work health and safety, or equivalent experience.
