Overview

nOne of our Federal Government clients is seeking an experienced Principal Java Software Engineer to support new development and enhancement of various customer-facing platforms and services used by millions of Australians.n
nThis is a senior technical leadership prospect suited to an accomplished full-stack Java Engineer who enjoys leading Agile teams, driving engineering excellence, and delivering complex enterprise solutions within a large and sophisticated technology environment.n

In this role, you will:
n
n
n
Lead the design, development, and delivery of Java-based solutions within a large and complex enterprise environment.
n
Provide technical leadership to Agile multidisciplinary teams, supporting developers and ensuring consistent engineering standards are followed.
n
Drive software design, development, testing, deployment, and production support activities across the SDLC.
n
Review technical solutions, provide expert advice, and work closely with stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.
n
Take ownership of delivery outcomes while promoting quality, security, maintainability, and continuous improvement.
n
n
To be successful in this role, you should be able to demonstrate:
n
n
n
Experience designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting complex software solutions within large-scale environments.
n
Robust commercial experience developing enterprise applications using Java, Spring Framework, RESTful APIs, SQL/DB2,



and modern web technologies.
n
Hands-on experience with modern DevOps and cloud-native technologies, including Git, CI/CD,
OpenShift/Kubernetes,
containerisation, and API integration.
n
Proven experience leading Agile software development teams and mentoring developers while driving engineering best practices and code quality.
n
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide technical leadership, influence delivery outcomes, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

n Working Arrangements:

nFor the first six weeks of this engagement, you'll be expected to work on-site full time. Following this onboarding period, hybrid working arrangements can be negotiated with your manager. Typical hybrid arrangements will be ***** onsite vs remote working.n
