About the prospect
Join a well-known national retail brand as a hands-on React & React Native Developer in its digital team. You'll work across mobile and web on a shared React Native, React and TypeScript codebase, building customer-facing features that are used at real scale.

This is a chance to get your foot in the door with a major retail brand on an immediate-start contract through to March 2027. With significant current work planned for 2027, there is high potential to extend.

The role
Build and ship features across mobile (React Native) and web (React)
Own your work end to end, from implementation and testing through to deployment
Work to well-defined requirements, asking the right questions early to clear blockers
Uphold engineering standards through clean code and thoughtful code review
Use AI coding tools every day to lift the speed and quality of what you deliver

What you'll bring
Around 5 years' commercial software engineering experience
Commercial experience in both React Native (mobile) and React (web)
Daily, hands-on use of Cursor or a comparable AI coding tool in your current or most recent role

Clear written and verbal communication, and confidence asking smart questions
The self-motivation to manage your own work without heavy direction

Nice to have: TypeScript and some backend exposure (ideally Node.js), Azure (strong AWS also welcome), and experience on a high-traffic consumer app in retail, loyalty or personalisation.

Culture
A relaxed, innovative squad that cares about coding standards
AI-first: AI tooling is simply how the team works
Opinionated but open to new ideas, and curiosity is encouraged
A straight-talking manager who values direct communication
A collaborative mix of permanent engineers and consultants

What's on offer
Contract starting early November 2026 through to the end of March 2027
High potential to extend as recent work kicks off in 2027
Hybrid working arrangement, with 3 days per week in the office
A chance to get your foot in the door with a large national retail brand
