This position provides direct executive support to the Director General including diary and email management.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in providing administrative and secretarial support at a senior executive level. Proven ability to deal with sensitive confidential and political information with tact and discretion. Robust interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate. Well-developed computer literacy skills including experience in using a range of electronic processes
Core Responsibilities:
Provides direct executive support to the Director General including diary and email management, and preparation of correspondence and other documents for the Director General.
Liaises with departmental employees on behalf of the Director General on confidential and operational matters. Liaises with external stakeholders, including Ministerial, Parliamentary, Industry and Government staff, and members of the public, on behalf of the Director General.
Provides leadership and direction to the department's executive and personal assistants within the Executive group to facilitate accurate preparation of advice and material for the Director General and the responsible Minister.
Undertakes research on behalf of the Director General as required.
Provides executive support to the Corporate Executive as required including the preparation of agendas, minutes and action updates.
Arranges travel requirements for the Director General and/or other Corporate Executive members as required.
Responsible for acquittals and finance documentation on behalf of the Director General, such as credit card documentation and travel reporting.
Creates and maintains corporate records, including confidential records, using the department's record management system.
Contributes to the development of effective working relationships to achieve corporate objectives in alignment with department's values.
