Role Description The Asphalt and Civil Operator is a full time, on-site role based in Sunshine Coast Queensland, Australia. This position involves operating asphalt and civil construction equipment, assisting with site preparation, laying and compacting asphalt, and maintaining clean and safe work areas. Day-to-day tasks include loading and unloading materials, following project plans and directions from supervisors, checking equipment for basic maintenance needs, and adhering to safety procedures and traffic management requirements. The operator will work closely with crew members to deliver projects on schedule, support quality checks, and respond to changing site conditions as needed.





Qualifications
Experience operating asphalt and civil construction equipment (e.g., rollers, pavers, skid steers, excavators and trucks) and willingness to learn new machinery.
Knowledge of basic civil construction processes, including site preparation, grading, drainage considerations, and asphalt placement.
Understanding of workplace health and safety practices, including use of PPE, hazard identification, and compliance with site procedures and traffic control.
Strong practical skills in manual handling, use of hand tools, and basic equipment checks and maintenance.
Reliable work ethic, ability to follow instructions, and capacity to work effectively in a small team environment.
Positive communication skills and ability to interact professionally with supervisors, coworkers, and clients on-site.
Relevant tickets or licenses (e.g., HC Truck driver’s license, machinery tickets, construction induction/white card) or ability to obtain them.
Prior experience in asphalt, roadworks, or civil construction is highly regarded, but candidates with transferable skills and strong motivation will be considered.
