What does a Landfill/Transfer Station Attendant do? As a Landfill/Transfer Station Attendant, you'll help customers dispose of waste safely and correctly while supporting the day-to-day operation of Council's waste facilities.
Key responsibilities
Assess incoming waste loads and direct customers to the correct disposal or recycling area
Operate the weighbridge, tablets and waste recording systems
Process customer payments and issue receipts
Provide advice on the correct disposal and recycling of waste materials
Assist with general site operations and housekeeping duties
Help maintain a safe environment for staff, contractors and visitors
What we're looking for
Valuable communication and customer service skills
A practical, hands-on approach to work
Basic computer skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
A strong commitment to safety




Reliability and a good work ethicAbility to undertake physical work in an outdoor environment
Able and willing to undertake plant training
It would be great (but not essential) if you have
Experience in customer service
Experience operating a weighbridge or similar system
Experience handling cash and EFTPOS transactions
Experience working in waste management, construction, transport, civil works, farming or similar industries
Requirements
Current Victorian Driver Licence
Legal right to work in Australia
