Northeast Engineering is expanding and seeking a hands‐on Team Leader to run our Final Fitment Hydraulic and Plating Section in Adelaide (on‐site, full‐time), overseeing the critical stage where premium truck bodies and hydraulic systems come together on OEM truck chassis.
This role suits a mechanically strong leader who thrives on problem solving, coaching a team, and delivering high‐quality builds, while working on the tools and driving consistent, high‐standard outcomes in a growing business
WhatYou'll Lead
Our Final Fitment teamcompletes the installation and hydraulic integration of:
Cranetrucks
Hooklifts
Skiploaders
Chassispreparation for body mounting
You'll coordinateworkflow, support the team with technical challenges, and ensure every buildleaves the workshop safe, compliant, and finished to a high standard.
WhatYou'll Be Doing
Leadingand mentoring a small team of fitters and apprentices
Overseeingmechanical and hydraulic fitment on truck chassis
Ensuringcompliance with ADRs, OEM guidelines, and internal QA standards
Conductinginspections, testing, and sign‐off
Drivingefficiency, safety, and continuous improvement across the section
What YouBring
Tradequalification (Heavy Vehicle, Diesel Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, etc.)
Strongexperience with hydraulic systems and truck body fitment
Provenleadership capability in a workshop or manufacturing environment
Abilityto read drawings and hydraulic schematics
Acommitment to quality, safety, and teamwork
Bonus points forcrane/PTO experience, forklift/dogging tickets, or exposure to lean/5S.
