Civil Drainlayer / Pipelayer | Bay of Plenty We're working alongside a well-established civil contractor delivering a range of civil construction and infrastructure projects across the Bay of Plenty. With a solid pipeline of work ahead, they're looking for an experienced
Civil Drainlayer or Pipelayer
to join their team.
You don't need to be a registered Drainlayer to apply.
For the right candidate with solid pipelaying experience, there's an chance to work towards becoming a qualified Drainlayer through an apprenticeship pathway.
This role suits someone who understands civil drainage, takes pride in their workmanship and wants to develop their skills with a good crew.
What you'll be doing
Installing stormwater, wastewater and underground drainage systems
Laying pipes, setting levels and ensuring correct falls and alignment
Working from plans, drawings and site specifications
Assisting with trenching, bedding, backfilling and reinstatement
Working alongside excavator operators, labourers and supervisors
Maintaining safe work practices around underground services and excavations
Ensuring drainage installations meet required standards

Understanding pipe installation, levels and gradients

Taking pride in getting the job done properly the first time
Showing initiative and a willingness to learn and develop
What we're looking for
Proven experience in civil pipelaying or drainlaying
Good understanding of underground drainage installation
ConstructSafe or Site Protected certification
Full Class 1 driver's licence
Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
Highly regarded:
Registered Drainlayer qualification
Experience on civil infrastructure, roading or subdivision projects
WTR endorsements or additional civil tickets
Ability to read and interpret civil drawings
Interest in completing a drainlaying apprenticeship
