The Opportunity
ROUSSOS Recruitment is partnering with an established South Australian developer-builder to appoint an experienced Site Manager for a commercial mixed-use retail development in Strathalbyn.
With a strong track record across the Adelaide market and regional South Australia, the business delivers a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential projects. Operating across both development and construction, it offers an integrated approach to project delivery, supported by an established team and a solid pipeline of future work.

The Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will oversee day-to-day site operations throughout the construction of the Strathalbyn development, ensuring programme, safety, quality and subcontractor performance are effectively managed through to completion.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and coordinating all on-site construction activities
Managing subcontractors, trades and suppliers to maintain productivity and performance




Driving construction programmes, sequencing and key project milestones
Managing site logistics, resource allocation and short-term planning
Maintaining high standards of WHS, quality assurance and compliance
Coordinating site meetings, inspections and subcontractor activities
Working closely with the Project Manager and broader construction team
Liaising with consultants, clients and key project stakeholders
Identifying construction risks and resolving site challenges proactively
Overseeing defects, commissioning and the successful handover of the project
The Like Mind
You are an experienced Site Manager with a background in commercial construction and the confidence to lead site delivery on a project of this scale. You are organised, proactive and comfortable managing competing priorities, building strong relationships with subcontractors and maintaining high standards across safety, quality and programme.
You will ideally bring:
Proven Site Management experience within commercial construction
Experience delivering projects valued at $20M or above
Exposure to retail, mixed-use or similarly complex commercial developments
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing and programming
Confidence managing subcontractors, trades and site teams
A relevant trade background, ideally in Carpentry
A strong understanding of WHS, quality assurance and compliance
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
A highly organised, autonomous and solutions-focused approach
A track record of delivering projects safely, on programme and to a high standard
