A hands-on P&C; Manager role for someone who knows how to bring structure to growth.
$190,400 inc. super
Permanent Full-Time
Sydney CBD / Hybrid
What's the brief?
We're partnering with a fast-growing, tech-enabled business to find an experienced P&C; Manager who can take ownership of the operational People function as the organisation enters its next phase of growth.
This is the most senior People & Culture role in the business, partnering directly with the CFO, CEO and senior leadership team across a global workforce spanning Australia, New Zealand, the US, Philippines and Canada.
It's a hands-on role. You'll be across everything from contracts, performance management and employee relations through to policy, compliance, organisational design, HR systems and payroll oversight.
The business has grown quickly and now needs someone who can bring greater structure and consistency to the way People processes operate without adding unnecessary complexity or slowing things down.
There's also some chunky project work ahead, including improving and consolidating HR systems across the group and continuing to build the People foundations needed to support further growth.
You'll work closely with an internal Talent Manager who owns broader recruitment, allowing you to focus heavily on the operational HR remit while still overseeing senior recruitment and broader workforce planning.
Is This Your Perfect Match?
You're an experienced HR Manager or senior People & Culture generalist who still genuinely enjoys being hands-on.
You're comfortable being the person people come to with the tricky stuff – whether that's a performance issue, employment contract, policy question or an employee matter where there isn't an immediately obvious answer.
You don't need to know everything off the top of your head, but you know how to find the answer,

assess the risk and come back with a practical recommendation.
You'll be confident working directly with senior leaders, including a dynamic founder-led leadership team, and comfortable challenging thinking when required.
You'll also enjoy environments that are still evolving. Rather than expecting every process to already exist, you're happy building the structure, policies and consistency the business needs as it grows.
Most importantly, you're commercial, pragmatic and human in your approach. This is a tech-forward environment, but they still want People advice to feel like People advice.
Your Role in Action
Act as the senior People & Culture partner to the CFO, CEO and senior leadership team
Own the day-to-day operational People function across a growing global workforce
Provide practical, risk-aware advice across employee relations, performance management and disciplinary matters
Manage employment contracts, amendments, restructures, exits and broader employee lifecycle documentation
Develop, implement and embed HR policies and processes across the group
Coach leaders through performance conversations, PIPs and complex employee matters
Ensure People practices remain compliant with Australian employment legislation and support compliance across international markets
Partner with leaders on organisational design, workforce planning and evolving team structures
Manage and improve HR systems, including Employment Hero and Rippling

Support the consolidation and improvement of People systems and processes across the broader group
Oversee payroll approvals and employee data across multiple regions
Manage EOR arrangements and broader cross-border employee requirements
Oversee senior recruitment while partnering closely with the internal Talent function
Support remuneration, benefits, incentive programs and People reporting
Manage grievances and employment-related legal matters, engaging external counsel where required
Continue building the structure and People foundations required to support significant business growth
What You Bring
Strong HR Manager, People & Culture Manager or senior generalist HR experience
Confidence operating as a hands-on senior People practitioner rather than purely a strategic leader
Strong employee relations, performance management and employment compliance capability
Experience developing and implementing HR policies and processes
Sound knowledge of Australian Fair Work legislation and employment requirements
Confidence partnering with C-suite executives, founders and senior leaders
Robust problem-solving skills and the ability to independently research and navigate unfamiliar People matters
Experience working in a fast-moving, scaling or changing organisation
A pragmatic and commercial approach with the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders when required
Strong HR technology capability and confidence picking up new systems quickly
Experience with Employment Hero, Rippling or similar HR platforms would be advantageous
Global or multi-jurisdictional HR experience will be highly regarded
Experience within tech, e-commerce, SaaS or another high-growth environment would be advantageous but isn't essential
