Designs by Michael Yabsley is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Junior Carpenter to join our construction team in Brisbane.
This is a full-time position based in Brisbane, QLD ****, offering an exciting opportunity to develop your carpentry skills whilst working on diverse and high-quality construction projects.
In this role, you will work alongside experienced tradespeople, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to the successful delivery of our clients' vision.What you'll be doingAssisting in the preparation of work sites, including measuring, marking and setting out materials according to specifications and architectural plansFabricating and installing wooden structures, fixtures and fittings under the guidance of senior carpentersUsing hand and power tools safely and effectively to cut, shape and join timber and other materialsReading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and specifications to ensure accurate execution of workAssisting with the assembly and installation of frameworks, doors, windows, stairs and other carpentry elementsMaintaining a clean and organised work site, adhering to all health and safety regulations and best practicesTransporting and handling materials and equipment as requiredSupporting senior team members and learning from their expertise to develop your carpentry skillsCommunicating effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure project objectives are metWhat we're looking forCompletion of a recognized carpentry apprenticeship and hold a White CardSound knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools and materials used in residential and commercial constructionAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications accuratelyStrong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanshipPhysical fitness and ability to perform manual labour,
