Assistant Accountant | Broad Role | Global Business ExposureOur client is the Australian arm of a global investment business with operations across multiple international markets and industries.Combining the backing and sophistication of a global organisation with the support and accessibility of a local team, opportunities within this finance function are rare, with strong tenure across the team and a culture built on collaboration, trust and long-term stability.About the RoleReporting to the Finance Manager, you'll join a small and experienced finance team in a broad Assistant Accountant role that offers exposure across the full accounting function.This is a hands-on position where you'll be involved in the day-to-day running of finance while continuing to develop your technical accounting skills.
You'll work closely with experienced professionals, gain exposure to a wide range of responsibilities and be given the opportunity to build your experience beyond the traditional Assistant Accountant remit.Responsibilities include:Managing accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash flow activitiesSupporting monthly, quarterly and annual accounting processesPreparing reports and maintaining accurate financial recordsMaintaining fixed asset registers and supporting reconciliationsAssisting with audit preparation and external audit requirementsSupporting BAS, GST, FBT and other compliance obligationsResponding to internal and external stakeholder enquiriesAssisting with a significant ERP implementation projectProviding broader support across the finance function as requiredThe role will suit someone who enjoys variety,
is comfortable being in the detail and wants to continue learning within a supportive environment.About YouDegree qualified, you've gained experience in a similar role and are looking to broaden your exposure.We're looking for more than someone who just lists strong Excel skills and attention to detail on their CV.
We want someone who is genuinely curious, enjoys understanding how the numbers fit together and isn't afraid to ask questions.
You'll be proactive, take ownership of your work and be keen to learn and get involved across the finance function from within a supportive and experienced finance team.
