Finance leadership with genuine commercial influence.The Salco Group is a fourth-generation, Melbourne-based family business operating across retail, wholesale and eCommerce throughout Australia and New Zealand.Our portfolio includes GANT, Ben Sherman, Abelard and Moss, alongside a growing range of strategic partnerships and shared services.We're looking for an experienced Finance leader to join us as Group Commercial & Finance Manager at a genuinely exciting stage in the Group's evolution.Reporting to the Group CEO and as one of six members of our Executive Leadership Team, you'll lead Finance across Salco Group and its entities while playing a key role in the commercial decisions that shape the business.Working closely with our Group CEO and fellow executives, you'll join an experienced, approachable leadership team and a business with a clear next stage ahead.A considered financial and commercial perspective will be central to the role — helping test, shape and strengthen opportunities through challenge, analysis, risk assessment and clear recommendations.The RoleCore responsibility sits across reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow, tax, banking, financial controls, governance, compliance and financial risk — providing clear financial assurance to the Group CEO, owners and Board.You'll lead the Finance function, with Payroll & Compliance also reporting into the role.Executive contribution extends beyond the core Finance remit into commercial modelling, business cases, investment analysis, performance reporting and financial evaluation of significant opportunities.This includes financial input into retail property strategy, lease decisions, store openings and refurbishments, concessions, shop-in-shops, partner environments and other major commercial investments.What You'll OwnFinancial reporting and analysis across the GroupBudgeting,

That means getting underneath the data — understanding the systems, why they have been built the way they have, how the data is created and how it moves through the business.
Where something compromises its integrity, you'll want to investigate it, and we'll expect you to understand it, fix it and influence the systems, processes and controls behind it.




You won't simply work with the numbers; you'll help strengthen the way the business produces them.Robust retail experience will also matter, together with a clear appreciation of how the commercial drivers connect — customers, stock, margin, stores, shopping centers, trading performance and the external retail environment.Comfort moving between detailed financial matters and broader commercial discussions will be important, as will the ability to contribute constructively as part of a small leadership team.Sound judgement, constructive challenge, discretion and follow-through will matter, along with the ability to build trust across the business.About SalcoOur Head Office is in Tullamarine, with our Distribution Centre on site and our teams closely connected to the day-to-day business.We're a long-standing family business, but not a particularly conventional one.Our business spans brands, stores, concessions, wholesale, eCommerce and an evolving mix of partnerships and shared services.We're hardworking and grounded.
