Concord Cardiology is seeking a Medical Typist to join our team on a part-time basis.
This role is based working from home and plays a vital part in supporting our cardiology practice by ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient information and medical records.As a Medical Typist, you will be responsible for transcribing medical reports, correspondence and clinical notes with precision and attention to detail.
This position is essential to maintaining the efficiency of our clinical operations and ensuring that all medical documentation meets the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.Key responsibilitiesTranscribe dictated medical reports, clinical notes and correspondence from cardiologists and medical staff with accuracy and attention to detailMaintain confidentiality and adhere to strict data protection and privacy regulations when handling sensitive patient informationProofread and edit typed documents to ensure grammatical accuracy, correct medical terminology and compliance with formatting standardsManage medical dictation software and audio equipment to support efficient transcription workflowsFile and organise medical documents in accordance with the practice's record management systemLiaise with clinical staff to clarify medical terminology or unclear audio recordings to ensure accurate transcriptionMeet agreed deadlines for transcription turnaround whilst maintaining high quality standardsSupport the administrative team with general clerical duties as requiredWhat we're looking forProven experience as a Medical Typist or Medical Transcriptionist, preferably in a cardiology or clinical settingExcellent typing speed and accuracy, with a demonstrated ability to transcribe medical dictation with precisionStrong knowledge of medical terminology,
particularly cardiology-related terminologyProficiency with medical transcription software and standard computer applications such as Microsoft WordExperience with Genie or Best Practice Medical Software and/or medical dictation software is required.A home based computer that is relaible & has antivirus software.Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracyUnderstanding of patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare privacy regulations including relevant Australian privacy legislationStrong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasksExcellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative staffA qualification in medical transcription or secretarial studies is preferredWhat we offerConcord Cardiology is committed to supporting the wellbeing and professional development of our team members.
