Our people draw on deep industry experience, an unwavering commitment to safety, and practical innovation to deliver the right outcomes for our clients and communities.About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Communications Worker that is passionate and highly motivated to work in the Melbourne metropolitan region and throughout Victoria supporting our team out of our Dandenong South depot.As part of the role you will install, maintain, and test overhead and underground fibre optic communication cables, supporting electrical distribution networks.
You will work closely with fibre optic splicers and assist in ensuring projects and maintenance tasks are completed safely and efficiently.Key Responsibilities includeCoordinate communication network activities with internal & external stakeholdersPrepare & input data for work record and reporting requirementsComply with flexible work practices to meet system needsEnsure all the required training and authorisations are in date at all times and participate in identifying productivity, procedural and safety improvementsFollowing and conforming to all safe working practices, OHS&E; principles and Australian standardsParticipate in on-call roster as requiredAbout YouThe successful applicant will have experience working as a Communication Technician or similar and hold an Electrical Lineworker qualification (or equivalent).




Robust technical knowledge and experience working on some of the following communications technologies; Overhead ADSS and underground fibre optic networksAbility to analyse and solve technical information, including fault finding in both the maintenance and commissioning of communications systemsCompare information from different sources to come to a conclusion and select an appropriate course of actionAbility and initiative to identify the critical resources necessary to achieve desired objectivesHold a current Australian driver licence with HR+ highly desirableHigh Risk Work Licence - Elevated Work PlatformWhy Work With UsWhat we do matters.
