For an Accountant looking to move beyond a predominantly transactional position, this is an opportunity to build stronger technical foundations and take on greater responsibility as your experience develops.The Role Working alongside experienced finance professionals, you'll be involved in the day-to-day accounting activities of the business, with exposure to month end reporting, financial reconciliations, cash management and compliance.
The position is particularly suited to someone who enjoys variety, is comfortable working across different accounting functions and wants to continue building their technical capability.
Your responsibilities will include:Assisting with month end close, general ledger maintenance and journal entriesPreparing and reviewing bank, supplier and intercompany reconciliationsSupporting accounts payable and receivable activities, ensuring transactions are processed accuratelyMonitoring cash balances and assisting with payments and cash managementSupporting payroll accounting and associated reconciliationsAssisting with BAS preparation and other statutory compliance obligationsPreparing supporting schedules and financial information for year-end and audit requirementsInvestigating discrepancies and resolving accounting queriesMaintaining accurate accounting records and supporting financial controlsWorking with the wider finance team to identify opportunities for process improvements About you You'll have developed a good understanding of core accounting processes and be looking for a role that offers greater variety, responsibility and exposure to a more complex business workplace.
We're particularly interested in candidates who are proactive, detail oriented and enjoy being involved in different aspects of the finance function.
Ideally, you'll bring:At least three years' experience in an Accountant, Assistant Accountant or similar positionA degree in Accounting, Finance or a related disciplineProgress towards CA/CPA qualification, or the intention to commenceSound knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations and month-end processesStrong Excel skills and the ability to pick up new accounting systemsGood organisational skills and attention to detailA willingness to take ownership of tasks and develop your accounting knowledgeStrong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with othersExperience working across multiple entities or within an internationally connected business would be advantageous, although not essential.
