We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our growing Finance team in Melbourne CBD, supporting financial accounting, reporting, fixed asset management and month-end close activities across the business.About the RoleReporting into a Finance Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring financial transactions, asset management processes and reporting activities are completed accurately, efficiently and in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and internal policies.You will be a trusted finance partner across the business, working closely with stakeholders to maintain solid financial controls, deliver accurate reporting and support continuous improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support month-end and year-end close activitiesPrepare and post general ledger journals, accruals, prepayments and provisionsExecute depreciation runs and perform financial close reviewsPrepare reconciliations and audit documentation for internal and external auditsReview and validate purchase requisitions and supplier invoices in line with Delegation of Authority requirementsMonitor CAPEX and OPEX classifications and cost centre allocationsPerform foreign exchange revaluations and analysis of foreign currency transactionsManage the fixed asset register, including Assets Under Construction (AUC) and capitalisation activitiesSupport cash flow forecasting and financial reporting requirementsPartner with stakeholders across the business to resolve financial issues and improve processesContribute to finance transformation and continuous improvement initiativesAbout YouYou are a detail-oriented and commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and building strong relationships with stakeholders.You will bring:Bachelor's Degree in AccountingCA, CPA or CIMA qualification (or currently studying towards completion)Experience in financial accounting, external audit, fixed assets accounting or manufacturing environmentsStrong understanding of month-end processes, reconciliations and financial controlsAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, formulas and financial analysisStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesExcellent communication skills with the confidence to engage senior stakeholdersSAP ERP experience (highly regarded but not essential)Why Join Hanwha Defence Australia?
