HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced APS6 Finance Coordinator – External Budgets & Capital to join a Federal Government organisation in Canberra.
Bring your government budgeting expertise to a role supporting Commonwealth Budget processes, capital planning and strategic financial advice.
Working within a collaborative finance team, you will coordinate budget deliverables and provide guidance to stakeholders on complex financial matters.
About the role
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading external and capital budget processes, including maintaining budget information in CBMS.
Providing advice on Recent Policy Proposal (NPP) costings and financial justifications.
Coordinating Portfolio Budget Statements (PBS) and Portfolio Additional Estimates Statements (PAES).
Supporting capital budgeting and the development of Capital Management Plans.
Managing Actuals reporting and coordinating responses to Estimates Memoranda.
Preparing financial advice, briefs, ministerial submissions and Senate Estimates documentation.
Improving budgeting systems, policies and procedures, and delivering training to stakeholders.
About you
To be successful, you will bring:
A degree in Accounting, Commerce,
Business or a related discipline.
CA or CPA qualifications, completed or underway, or equivalent relevant finance experience.
Demonstrated experience in external budgeting, financial planning or budget management.
A strong understanding of the Australian Government financial framework and Commonwealth Budget processes.
Experience with CBMS and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Robust analytical, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Experience preparing accurate financial reports, briefs and budget documentation.
The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities within a collaborative team.
$***** per hour + 12% superannuation.
Assignment through to 31 August ****, with potential extension subject to organisational requirements.
Canberra CBD location.
