Our Brooklyn facility is the largest multi-species processing site in the Southern Hemisphere, operating extensive kill floor and meat fabrication machinery that services both domestic and export markets.We are seeking an experienced Plant Engineer to join our engineering leadership team.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role provides operational and technical leadership to a significant maintenance workforce, including 1 Supervisor and up to 40 tradespeople.This is a hands-on, high-impact role suited to an engineering professional who thrives in fast‐paced, high‐volume, highly regulated food manufacturing environments.ResponsibilitiesOversee daily engineering and maintenance operations across the beef and lamb kill floor and fabrication machineryImplement and optimise preventive, predictive, and reliability‐centred maintenance systemsLead, coach, and develop a maintenance team including a supervisor and up to 40 tradespeopleEnsure maintenance resourcing aligns with production demands in a high‐volume,



quick‐paced environmentManage contractors and specialist service providers for efficient service deliveryAnalyse maintenance and production data to improve equipment performance, uptime, and reliabilityParticipate in site projects, upgrades, and infrastructure improvementsDrive WHS, environmental compliance, and safety excellence across all engineering activitiesWhat You Will Bring to the TableDegree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering disciplineExtensive plant/maintenance engineering experience within food manufacturing (meat processing highly regarded)Strong leadership capability with experience managing supervisors and large trade teamsHands‐on knowledge of kill floor, fabrication, or another high‐volume food‐processing equipmentSolid understanding of WHS and environmental regulatory requirementsAbility to thrive in a fast‐paced, high‐compliance production environmentExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsExperience with refrigeration and boiler systems (desirable)Postgraduate training in maintenance or reliability engineering (desirable)Ready to Make an Impact?
