Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst | Business Partnering & FP&AWe; are partnering with a Top 20 professional services firm looking to appoint a commercially minded Finance Analyst to join their internal finance team in Brisbane CBD.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys the analytical side of finance but wants to become a genuine business partner - getting out into the business, building relationships with department leaders and using financial information to help stakeholders make better commercial decisions.Importantly, despite being within professional services, this is an internal finance position and is not client-facing.The OpportunityWorking as part of the firm's internal finance function, you will support stakeholders across the business with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, modelling and management reporting.The role has evolved to have a much stronger focus on stakeholder engagement and business partnering, so they are looking for someone who doesn't want to sit behind a spreadsheet all day.
You'll proactively build relationships across the firm, understand what is driving performance within different departments and provide meaningful financial insight.Key responsibilities will include:Coordinating the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes across the businessDeveloping financial models and analysing performance against budget, forecast and prior periodsPreparing management reports, dashboards and meaningful financial commentaryPartnering directly with department leaders and internal stakeholders to understand operational and commercial performanceBuilding strong relationships across the firm and becoming a trusted point of contact within FinanceIdentifying key business drivers, trends, risks and opportunitiesTranslating financial information into clear insights for non-finance stakeholdersSupporting strategic and commercial decision-making through analysis and modellingSupporting month-end reporting,



reconciliations and financial close activitiesAssisting with statutory compliance, payroll support and treasury-related activitiesContributing to finance projects, systems enhancements and process improvementsAbout YouThere are two backgrounds that could work particularly well for this opportunity.You may already be working within FP&A;, commercial finance or management accounting and looking for a role where you can develop your business partnering and stakeholder management experience.Alternatively, you may currently be working within public practice and looking to make your first move into an internal commercial finance role, bringing robust analytical and financial modelling experience with you.Ideally, you will have:A degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related disciplineCA/CPA qualification, either completed or currently studying towardsExperience across financial analysis, management accounting, budgeting, forecasting or similarStrong financial modelling and variance analysis capabilityExperience preparing management reporting and financial commentaryAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsConfidence working with financial systems and large data setsA naturally outgoing and relationship-driven approachThe confidence to engage with stakeholders across different areas and levels of a businessStrong communication skills and the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders$100k-$110k base + super1 day working from homeSocial and collaborative cultureGenuine internal business partnering exposureBroad experience across budgeting, forecasting, modelling and analysisStrong opportunity to develop stakeholder management and commercial skillsExcellent first move into industry for someone coming from public practiceCareer pathway towards broader FP&A; / Finance Business Partnering rolesIf you're an FP&A; professional looking for more stakeholder exposure, or you're currently in public practice and want to take your analytical and modelling experience into an internal commercial finance role,
