The shire is a popular tourism destination with pristine beaches, rainforest retreats and hinterland hideaways.ABOUT THE ROLEPositionCouncil is currently seeking an enthusiastic and capable individual to join its Road Construction team.Reporting to the Supervisor Road Construction, this hands-on role offers the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of vital community infrastructure.
You will be involved in a variety of labouring duties to assist in the completion of road construction and maintenance projects, including roads, roadsides, footpaths, cycleways, kerb and guttering, drainage, bridge structures and all other assets for the Engineering Works section.To be successful you will bringBehaviour that positively demonstrates Council's values of: creative, accessible, respect,



energetic and safe.Demonstrated understanding of and/or experience in general construction and maintenance duties associated with roads and roadsides, including concreting and finishing, pipe laying and sign installation.Demonstrated experience in and ability to perform a range of physical labouring duties.Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written.Demonstrated ability to operate various items of minor plant and equipment.The rewardsA salary range of $59,700 to $68,600 per annum (plus 12% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.Flexible work arrangements to support your lifestyle, including a rostered day off working arrangement (9 day fortnight or 4 day week).
