GWP Protective, part of Macfarlane Group, is a leading UK designer and manufacturer of protective case solutions and engineered foam inserts.
From our factory in Salisbury, we make custom flight cases, CNC-machined foam inserts and foam-lined protective cases for customers across Defence, Aerospace, Communications, Oil & Gas, Medical, Electronics and Automotive.
What we make protects equipment that really matters, so accuracy and great service sit at the heart of everything we do.
Reporting to the General Manager, you'll join our small, customer-focused sales team as the key link between our customers and the rest of the business.
You'll manage enquiries from new and existing customers, produce accurate quotations using our bespoke costing software, and work with our design team,



external sales team and suppliers to turn those quotations into orders.
Success here is clear: improving our quote-to-order conversion rate and building the kind of customer relationships that keep business coming back.
This role is built around incoming enquiries and following up quotations, rather than cold calling or telesales.
What You'll Be Doing
Managing customer enquiries from first contact through brief, quotation, design and sampling to winning the orderProducing accurate cost estimates and quotations using our bespoke software, within required timescalesProactively following up open quotations to secure purchase ordersLiaising with suppliers on bought-in component costs and lead timesAgreeing lead times and sampling requirements with customersWorking closely with our design, production and external sales teams to keep every live quotation movingKeeping our CRM system fully up to date, so the status of any customer requirement is clear at a glancePlanning and hosting customer visits to our Salisbury factoryEnsuring trading terms follow company policy while taking account of each customer's commercial needsWorking within our ISO **** quality procedures for enquiries and quotations




What We're Looking For
Experience in an internal sales, sales support, estimating or customer service role, handling enquiries and quotationsStrong numeracy, with the confidence to produce accurate costings and estimatesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers at all levelsStrong organisation and time management, juggling multiple projects to customer deadlinesConfident using Microsoft Word, Excel and CRM systems, and quick to learn new softwareA smart, professional presentation and a reliable, punctual approachExperience in a manufacturing or engineering environment (strongly preferred)The ability to read and discuss technical drawings (full training given)An operational understanding of AutoCADExperience working within an ISO **** quality system
