Join a global consultancy with access to regional and international Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) expertiseSupport our environmental and engineering teams working across diverse projects in Papua New Guinea (PNG)12 month contract - PNG, New Zealand or Australia basedAbout the opportunityTetra Tech Coffey is seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Security Advisorto support our engineering and environmental teams working across diverse projects in PNG.Our people undertake fieldwork in diverse and sometimes remote locations, where health, safety, security, logistics and emergency response risks need to be carefully considered and managed.In this newly created role, you'll provide practical support across our PNG project portfolio while helping us to strengthen our systems, procedures, risk management and emergency preparedness.You can be based in PNG, New Zealand or Australia.
If you're based in Australia or New Zealand, occasional travel to our Port Moresby office and/or other site locations in PNG will be required.
For someone based in PNG, occasional travel may be required to our offices in Australia.What you'll doWorking closely with project teams and our HSEQ specialists in Australia and the US, you'll:Review project Health, Safety and Security plans, risk assessments and safe work documentation.Review and improve PNG-specific Health, Safety and Securityprocedures, systems and templates.Strengthen risk assessments and emergency response arrangements for remote and higher-risk locations, with the option of supporting projects in other international locations beyond PNGProvide practical Health, Safety and Securityadvice and support in response to safety observations,



incidents and emerging risks.Facilitate Health, Safety and Securitypre-mobilisation meetings and help teams prepare for field activities.Help project teams with practical aspects of safe field mobilisation, including PPE and logistics.Support incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.Undertake site and office Health, Safety and Securityinspections across PNG.About youYou're an experienced Health, Safety and Securityprofessional who combines strong technical knowledge with a practical, collaborative approach.Ideally, you'll bring:Demonstrated Health, Safety and Securityexperience within engineering, environmental, construction, resources or other field-based environmentsStrong experience in risk assessment, emergency response planning, incident management and Health, Safety and Security systemsExperience working in PNG, the Pacific or other remote or developing-country environmentsConfidence working with project managers and field-based teamsRelevant Health, Safety and Security / WHS qualificationsStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsThe ability to work independently and collaborate across geographically dispersed teamsWillingness to travel as required to and within PNG, with travel generally expected to be up to once per quarterInterested?
