Located in Penola, South Australia – the purpose-built plant provides a state-of-the-art factory and is the newest of its kind in the southern hemisphere.We are currently seeking multiple suitably experienced applicants for the roles of Quality Officer located in Penola, SA.MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Monitor and maintain food safety and quality standards in accordance with UDC requirements, GMP, FMP standards and relevant regulatory requirementsConduct internal and GMP audits, follow up on audit findings, report non-compliances and ensure corrective actions are completedCollect product and environmental samples, conduct in-house product testing, including sensory and shelf-life testing, and arrange sample dispatch to external laboratoriesMonitor product quality results, maintain accurate records and worksheets, and prepare Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and other quality documentation for sales and exportInspect incoming goods, perform verification activities,



and ensure products are graded and released in accordance with specifications and food safety requirementsCalibrate and maintain testing equipment, monitor its performance, and ensure accurate and reliable test resultsMonitor and coach employees on food safety practices, hygiene standards and accurate documentationSupport customer and external audits, maintain food safety and quality systems, and contribute to continuous improvement initiativesMaintain a clean, secure and organised work environment and comply with all company policies, procedures and OHS requirementsSKILLS & EXPERIENCES:A qualification in Food Science or a related field is desirablePrevious experience in a quality assurance or quality control environment, ideally with at least two years of relevant experienceStrong knowledge of food safety, quality assurance, auditing and documentation practices is desirableProficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)Strong attention to detail, time management, planning and problem-solving skillsAbility to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 kg, climbing stairs and working in potentially hot and dry production environmentsAbove award wages are paid and will be discussed at the time of interview.The Union Dairy Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer
